Audit and Assurance Manager

BMC CPAs has a current opening for an Audit and Assurance Manager.   BMC’s audit department provides independent audits for clients in government, nonprofit, retail, construction, car dealerships, homeowner associations, and a wide variety of other industries in the private and public sector.  This is an ideal position for a candidate looking to grow in their professional career.
Expectations include but not limited to:
  • Preparing, examining, or analyzing accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards
  • Developing, implementing, modifying, and documenting recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology
  • Computing taxes owed and preparing tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting or other tax requirements
  • Advising clients in areas such as compensation, employee health care benefits, the design of accounting or data processing systems, or long-range tax or estate plans
  • Providing internal and external auditing services for businesses or individuals
  • Analyzing business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice
  • Provide for clients financial statement review and compilation services
Desired Skills and Experience
  • CPA certified with an active Florida CPA license
  • Yellow Book Qualified or can be qualified.
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in public accounting
  • Ideal experience working with local and state government clients
  • Excellent project management, analytical, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to lead and develop Audit Staff, Seniors, and other Managers
  • Dedication to developing and improving team environment
  • Integrity, dependability, and trustworthiness
  • Ability to finalizes assignments on time and with a high degree of accuracy and completeness
  • Excellent client-serving skills
  • Proficiency with personal computers, including spreadsheet software programs, general ledger packages, computerized audit applications, web search capabilities
  • Experience with Pro System FX Engagement is a plus
